- The fire bowl comes with a grill plate and allows you to barbecue on an open fire. It can be used in two ways - as a fire bowl it provides warmth and ensures cosy hours, and with a grill plate you can cook vegetables, meat and fried eggs in no time.
- The fire bowl is made of durable corten steel, which develops a natural rust patina over time. The four sturdy legs ensure a comfortable grilling experience at a pleasant height. The grill plate made of carbon steel is divided into different heat zones - the inner area gets heated to high temperatures which is ideal for grilling. Food can be kept temporarily warm on the outer edges.
Grill and Plancha
After several uses, the Grill and function optimally. Always allow the oil 'burn in' to protect the Grill and Plancha from rusting. When cooking, use vegetable oils with higher smoke points, such as groundnut or sunflower. To clean the Grill and Plancha, oil it and then scrape off the residue with a spatula. Apply a final coat of oil before storing to prevent rust.
Corten Steel
Once exposed to the elements, the Corten Steel will naturally weather. Throughout the weathering process, please be aware that there will be 'run-off' from the Corten Steel that can cause staining.
After several months a protective layer of rust will form that is a natural orange-brown colour; this fixed coating will protect the planter against further corrosion. We recommend varnish once the weathering process has reached this final stage.
We recommend using something other than corten steel within 2 km of a coastline. Clean annually by hosing off dirt with clean tap water
Note: The fire bowl is delivered without a rusted surface. However, this will develop on its own over a period of 4-5 months, depending on the weather conditions and location. For faster results, the element can be treated with a rust accelerator.
